Should we book just photos, or video too?
For us, the Šárka + Jarda team is the ultimate choice. We know each other's flow, we don’t get in each other's way, and the final result is visually consistent. Wedding photos are a standard nowadays, but video can pull you back into the moment and trigger those "living" memories, as if the day was yesterday. However, if you only need one format, we’re happy to go solo. Message us and we’ll work it out!
How far in advance should we book you?
Dates for the high season (May–September) disappear fast, often a year in advance. If you like our style, it’s better to write to us right away. Once we shake on it and sign the contract, the date is yours, and we won't give it to anyone else.
Will you travel to the other side of the country for us?
Definitely! We love road trips. We travel all over the Czech Republic, and if you’re planning a wedding abroad, just say the word – we’ll pack our gear and fly to you.
How long will we wait for the photos and video after the wedding?
We know you can’t wait, so we won’t keep you suffering. We’ll send you the first "Taster" (approx. 20 photos and a reel) the very next day so you have something to show the family and post on socials. This is our full-time job, so we can dedicate ourselves intensely to editing from morning till night. Jarda usually finishes the photos within a week – he knows you’re excited and doesn’t want to pile up work during the season. Šárka then finishes the video within 14 days of the music approval. However, anything can happen, so we state 5 weeks in the contract just to be safe.
How does payment work?
Upon signing the contract, we ask for a reservation fee, which is 1/3 of the package price. We’ll then request the remaining balance when we deliver the Taster, i.e., the day after the wedding.
How will you deliver the photos/video?
We deliver photos via an online gallery where you can download them in print resolution (5000px on the long side). There’s also an option to download them in a smaller resolution (2000px) – for social media or showing them to grandma on TV, as print resolution takes fo-re-ver to load. We send the video via YouTube, and once approved, we’ll send a download link so you have it saved.
Will we get all the photos you take? (Even the bad ones?)
To be honest: No. Culling is part of our job. We delete photos where someone blinked, is talking, or making a weird face. We only deliver the best shots that tell your story. We don't release Raw (unedited) files – it’s like asking for a raw steak at a restaurant.
How long will the final video be?
We make a wedding video, not a Saturday night feature film. It’s usually 8–10 minutes packed with emotion, music, and the most important moments of your day. You’ll also get reels for social media; it all depends on your chosen package.
What about music in the video? Can we choose our own?
Music makes up half the emotion in a video. We choose it because we need to hit the rhythm of the edit and the mood of the day. Plus, we have to use licensed music due to copyright laws. Šárka will pre-select music from our paid library and send you a suggested playlist for approval. After your feedback, she’ll pick the final tracks during editing.
What if we don’t like being photographed and feel stiff on camera?
That’s totally fine; 9 out of 10 couples tell us the same thing. We won’t force you into any weird poses. Instead, we’ll go for a walk, maybe leave you alone for a bit (because otherwise, you won’t get much time with each other at the wedding), and you’ll just be together. After ten minutes, you’ll forget we’re even there.
What if it rains?
You’ll have photos and video with rain! It has an incredible atmosphere and we are fully equipped for it. You don't need to worry about our gear or our "comfort." On the contrary, we’ll do our best to make sure you enjoy the ceremony, the shoot, and the party to the fullest. We’ve got this!
What happens if one of you gets injured or sick?
We’re professionals, so we try to cover for each other. But if something serious happens, we won’t leave you hanging. We have a network of reliable colleagues with a similar style and eye. We’ll do our best to find an adequate replacement and, of course, return the reservation fee.
Do we need to provide a seat for you at the wedding table?
We would appreciate a meal, but we definitely don’t need or expect to sit with the guests. If there’s a vendor table off to the side, that’s perfectly fine – we’ll just be happy to get fed! :)
Our wedding won't be just Czech, what about foreign languages?
English is no problem at all for us, and Šárka might still remember a few German sentences. Jarda, on the other hand, would only be able to apologize in German for not having his homework... So, let’s stick to English! :)
Do you still enjoy weddings after all these years?
Very much! We’re exhausted by the end of the season, but after a few weeks without an "I do," we start looking forward to the next weddings. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, mostly positive ones, and it’s great to be a part of it all. Being able to do this for a living is just a bonus; for us, it’s not just work.
